About TCQ

Hi, I’m Gabriella (Gabby for short).  I’m 30.  I have a PhD in Pharmacology and Toxicology. and I am currently a lab coordinator for the first-year chemistry program at a Milwaukee-area university.

In addition to my love of science, I have a passion for all things artsy-fartsy.  I knit.  I sew.  I make jewelry.  I am obsessed with decorating and refurbishing anything that can be refurbished (but mostly just furniture).  I’m also a guitarist/vocalist for the alternative rock band Faux Fiction.  If you are so inclined, you can listen to our music here: fauxfictionband.com

I met my husband, Jason, in February 2008.  We got engaged in November of 2010 and were married in May 2012.  He is an amazing man, especially for putting up with all my crafting crap and Craigslist runs.

Our family is completed (for now) by our “kids”, two shih tzu/poodle mixes named Bella and Captain Jack.

I grew up in a small town in southern New Jersey, but I’ve lived in the Milwaukee area for the past 8 years.  I love the Midwest…so much so that I convinced my mom and two younger brothers to move out here in 2012.  My husband and I currently rent the upper level of a 1920s duplex in a Milwaukee suburb.

This blog is dedicated to all things crafty.  I’ll be sharing things that I’ve made and repurposed, and hopefully you’ll find me interesting enough to stick around. 🙂
